Proposta de ensino interdisciplinar a partir da Gallesia integrifolia (PAU D'ALHO)

Abstract

This research is situated in the context of teaching biology, specifically on the topic of botany, aimed to investigate the contribution of the interdisciplinary and contextualized approach of the Gallesia integrifólia species to the school education process of high school students from a school in the municipality of Paudalho (PE). The research has a descriptive character, with a qualitative approach. Regarding the methodology, four classes were prepare and then, taught to a group of 35 students from the 2nd year of high school. Before the sequence of classes, students were asked to build mind maps, about the goal theme (Gallesia integrifólia) in order to understand the knowledge level and the connection the students were able to make about said plant and other subjects. After the class sequences, they were asked to make a new mind map, in order to analyze the assimilation contributions. The analysis of the maps revealed an increase in the number of registers and in the consistency of citations of mental maps after intervention, revealing an expansion in the perception of students with the interdisciplinary and contextualized approach to knowledge. In conclusion, reinforcing the active pedagogical approach, in order to encourage students’ reflection and argumentation, reveals the need for the teacher to reevaluate his/her strategies in class, aiming at the formation of individuals aware of their role in the understanding and construction of the world they live in.
